Looks as if Scribd is soon to launch premium paid accounts. If you click through on the link that shows on the site you're brought to a "coming soon" announcement which also quizzes you as to what you'd be willing to pay for.
Unfortunately there's no mention of what pricing they're thinking of offering.
According to the Scribd site - paid accounts will include:
- Featured documents on the Scribd home page
- Remove advertisements from documents
- Deep analytics of docuements
- Customized profile
