Ex-Wives and Others Eagerly Await the UBS Tax-Cheater List

It's not just the U.S. government that wants to get its hands on the list of Americans who hold secretive Swiss bank accounts. Ex-wives, creditors and former business partners are also salivating over the idea that a settlement between the U.S., the Swiss government and a Swiss bank may lead to the public disclosure of as many as 4,450 U.S. individuals that used the foreign bank accounts to hide money.

Cheshire police officer charged with illegal use of credit card - used ex-wife's card to sign up for eHarmony dating service

Police have charged a Cheshire police officer for using his ex-wife's credit card to register on a popular dating Web site.

Police received a complaint earlier this year that Robert Anderson, 38, had used the credit card to register an account on eHarmony.com. They said he ran up charges of $119 on the card.

Anderson was charged on Saturday with illegal use of a credit card.

Lt. Jay Markella, the Cheshire Police Department's public information officer, said police would not comment on any pending investigations or internal actions the department may take against Anderson. He would not say if Anderson had been placed on leave.

“It's our policy not to comment on investigations whether internal or external,” Markella said.

Anderson is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court today for the misdemeanor charge.
